EDLEAD is a community of researchers and educators within the field of educational leadership, situated at NTNU. There are three interwoven strands to our work: research, teaching and partnership with education practitioners.

We carry out research on a broad range of topics connected to educational leadership, including professional development and preparation of educational leaders, the leadership of learning and development in educational organisations, leading professional learning communities, co-creative leadership practices, leading partnerships within education and leading for social justice.

Our work with preparing and developing school leaders is wide-ranging. We run the Masters programme in School Development and Educational Leadership, we are responsible for the national headteacher training programme at NTNU and we are involved in a number of other leadership development modules and training programmes.

We work closely with educational practitioners and have a range of partnership projects. The University-School partnership (USSiT) is an important arena for research and development, as are our outreach projects in counties, municipalities and schools funded by the Department of Education.

EDLEAD works to produce high-quality research which has national and international significance and contributes to developing practice. We are committed to co-creating knowledge about educational leadership together with practitioners.
