eHealth and System Security Group – HS2G

eHealth and System Security Group – HS2G

The mission of the eHealth and System Security research group (HS2G) is to ensure that systems in our society, particularly those managing our health and welfare, are resilient against cyber-attacks and fulfil essential security and privacy requirements. The Systems that we focus our research on go beyond the classic ICT perspective and include societal, economical and human factors.

Research objectives

Develop models, methods, techniques and tools that can be used for:

  • Building secure eHealth systems
  • Evaluating and assessing the privacy and security level of systems (e.g., using risk models and risk analysis)
  • Secure data management
  • Crypto-biometrics for healthcare uses
  • Privacy models and privacy enhancing technologies
  • Training and educating users and organizations to understand and apply security methods and adversarial thinking

The group works to create mutual understanding across health and cyber security sectors by identifying key research challenges needing a joint force from both sectors, and proposing innovative technical and socio-technical solutions to the identified challenges.

The research activities of our group are both theoretical as well as application oriented, and are conducted in areas such as secure software development lifecycle, security assurance and maturity modeling, vulnerability, threat and risk analysis, DevOps security, modeling and verification of security protocols, model-driven security, and human aspects of security.
