Mineral production
Mineral production
The Mineral Production Research Group covers the value chain from geological resources to marketable mineral products. This includes exploration, resource geological modeling and evaluation, operational planning, mining, process mineralogy, crushing, grinding, and mineral separation, as well as mineral resource management, product development, and rehabilitation of affected areas post-mining.
Norway has vast mineral resources, an enormous resource potential, and can supply strategically important minerals to the EU and the rest of the world. We are the only university in Norway that conducts research and higher education in mineral production, and NTNU has the national responsibility to develop and manage the necessary expertise.
