Geology and geophysics
Geology and geophysics
We conduct research and teach across a broad spectrum of geology and geophysics, focusing on understanding natural processes that are crucial for industry and society. Our areas of expertise include structural geology, sedimentology, resource geology, and advanced geophysical methods.
Through rock physics, seismics, and numerical modeling, we develop solutions for CO2 storage, energy extraction, and environmental monitoring. With modern technology like machine learning and high-performance computing, we are at the forefront of research on sustainable resource management and safe infrastructure.
Our work ranges from resource mapping to space observation, and the geophysicists from our group are highly sought after for their interdisciplinary expertise and innovation.
