Hydrometallurgy
Hydrometallurgy
Hydrometallurgy is a chemical separation method which utilizes aqueous solutions to extract metals from ores, mineral processing concentrates, solutions, waste streams as well as recycled (urban mining) materials. It generally involves leaching, liquid purification and metal recovery. Hydrometallurgy is of particular relevance when it comes to processing of complex ores where mineral liberation is a challenge.
The mineral processing laboratory is equipped in a batch Radleys Carousel 6 Plus Reaction Station, which simultaneously heats (up to 180 °C), magnetically stirs and refluxes multiple (up to 6 with the volume up to 250 ml) samples under introduced atmosphere. In addition, the laboratory is equipped with a bath shaker which steadily shakes and mixes samples while maintaining a constant temperature.
