About

Digital Innovation Hub

The Energy Efficient Computing Systems (EECS) strategic research area at NTNU is acting as an EU Digital Innovation Hub (DIH) with the goal of providing knowledge on energy efficient computing for the Norwegian industry. EECS has as part of the EU project on Boosting Widening Digital Innovation Hubs (BOWI)  conducted technology transfer experiments with local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Trøndelag.

Sensor Innovation

SensorInnovation's product series into® offers a simple and cost-effective insurance against moisture damages and leakages in buildings. The sensors communicate in real time with a cloud solution called iCS — into® Control System, which provides a full overview of the building mass. SensorInnovation has in collaboration with NTNU developed an intelligent solution for raising an alarm when the deployed sensors indicate a potential leakage, given current environmental conditions.

ModeSensors

Fluid management is critical in healthcare. ModeSensors' Re:Balans® is a simple and accurate way to assist medical workers in managing hydration in patients suffering from kidney dysfunction,  heart failure, gastrointestinal disease, and many more. ModeSensors has in collaboration with NTNU investigated an antenna solution for Bluetooth communication that is suitable for close proximity to the body.

Q-Free

Q-Free is a prime mover in the world of smart, safe, and sustainable transportation management and improves traffic flow, road safety, and air quality in communities all over the world. Q-Free has in collaboration with NTNU investigated energy-efficient solutions for waking up the main system of DSRC transponders.
