Ferne Edwards
Ferne Edwards is a cultural anthropologist who has conducted research on sustainable cities across Australia, Venezuela, Ireland, Spain, Norway and the UK. Her books include the edited volumes, ‘Food for Degrowth: Perspectives and Practices’ and ‘Food, Senses and the City’ (both Routledge, 2021) and the monograph, ‘Food Resistance Movements: A Journey into Alternative Food Networks’ (Palgrave, 2023).
Ferne is based at the University of Surrey, UK, where she contributes to the EU IA project, FoodCLIC.

Steve Williams
Steve Williams aka drusnoise is a live, electronic music producer, sound artist and co-founder of @berlinmodularsociety and is curator of @sustain.berlin.
drusnoise integrates analog modular synthesizers with digital FX and organic samples to create a style that flows from lush ambient tones to gritty techno. drusnoise also releases and performs experimental sound art works incorporating field recordings, sonified climate change data, and feedback loops.
Known in the outside world as Dr. Steve Williams, his academic work includes conducting and publishing research on sustainable energy transition in Canada, Germany, and Sweden. Keen to merge themes of sustainability with dance music and sound art in today’s eco-challenging climate, drusnoise builds live sets from a plethora of natural sources.

Kirsten Jenkins
Kirsten Jenkins is Lecturer in Energy, Environment and Society within the Science, Technology and Innovation Studies group at the University of Edinburgh and Programme Director for the Energy, Society and Sustainability MSc. Her background is as a sustainable development and human geography scholar, with research interests that centre on energy justice; energy policy; science, technology, and innovations studies; transitions theory and sustainable energy provision and use.
Alongside her lectureship, Kirsten serves as Managing Editor for the journal Energy Research and Social Science, Associate Fellow of the Durham Energy Institute, and external examiner to postgraduate programmes in Development, Environment and Policy at SOAS University of London. Kirsten also runs two large international energy social science networks and works on research grants related to fuel and transport poverty, inclusivity in the energy transition and Just Transitions.

Stuart Capstick
Stuart Capstick is a Senior Research Fellow in the School of Psychology at Cardiff University, Wales, and Deputy Director of the Centre for Climate Change and Social Transformations (CAST Centre).
His background is in psychology and climate change, with a focus on understanding how people and society can be meaningfully involved in addressing environmental crises. He has jointly lead work for UNEP on lifestyle change and provided a chapter for Greta Thunberg’s recent Climate Book. He is also involved in activism with Scientists for Extinction Rebellion and has published in Nature Climate Change on this topic.
