Collaboration with low- and middle-income countries text

NTNU’s International Action Plan for 2018-2021 highlighted Collaborating with Low and Middle Income Countries (pdf) as one of its main priorities and an important element in NTNU’s contributions to the UN’s sustainable development goals. Access to affordable and renewable energy is increasingly recognised as a prerequisite for these countries to improve living conditions for their peoples.

NTNU Energy has initiated efforts to identify synergies between on-going projects in Africa (funded primarily by Norhed II and Erasmus+) and engage with additional stakeholders – such as the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Research Council of Norway, Innovation Norway and the Norwegian-African Business Association – with the objective to expand energy-related collaboration across the entire range from education and research to innovation and sustainable development.
