Research

My research field is High-Energy Astroparticle Physics with a specific focus on the study of the Galactic diffuse gamma-ray and neutrino emission and the contribution of unresolved sources.
This diffuse component, produced by the interaction of cosmic rays with the interstellar medium, encloses key information on the propagation of cosmic rays in our Galaxy and can be constrained using gamma-ray observations.
In this regard, it is fundamental to quantify the contribution of unresolved sources to the diffuse gamma-ray emission.

Aside from this, recently an increasing number of compact binary millisecond pulsars are being observed in the GeV energy range by the FermiLAT detector. I am interested in understanding the origin of the gamma-ray emission from this kind of source.
