About

I am a first year PhD Candidate at the Shore Control Lab. I am currently working on the SHEREC (Safe, healthy and environmental ship recycling) project.

My research focuses on creating user interfaces for teleoperation in industrial applications, particularly those used in shipbreaking and recycling operations. I am exploring how to design intuitive, adaptive, and efficient interfaces that enhance the interaction between remote workers and robotic systems – crawler robots, drones, and robotic arm manipulators.

My work aims to address the complexities of these operations by considering the cognitive load, trust, and safety implications of Human-Robot interaction in hazardous environments. Through this research, I seek to contribute to the development of safer, more efficient, and robust technological solutions in the maritime industry.

Research

Safe, Healthy and Environmental Ship Recycling (SHEREC)

Ship recycling, involving the dismantling of ships, poses significant risks, with high levels of fatalities, injuries and work-related diseases despite international regulations.
