Unni Soltun Andreassen
About
My PhD project explores the transition from combination classes for newly arrived adolsecents to vocational education and traning programs, with a focus on experiences with language. The thesis is based on a linguistic-ethnographic fieldwork conducted in one combination class and two vocational classes and is theoretically rooted in the critical sociolinguistic tradition. The articles in the project investigate, among other things, the use of first languages (Andreassen, 2024, https://doi.org/10.47862/apples.136167), students' understanding of teachers' use of dialect in oral instructions (Andreassen & Kjelaas, 2024, assumed) and challenges related to the English subject (Andreassen & Daugaard, forthcoming).
