Research

My Ph.D. is funded by SFI AutoShip, where I am researching new solutions for autonomous docking of ASVs (Autonomous Surface Vessels).

I will develop methods for trajectory planning in complex harbor environments, including static obstacles such as reefs and anchored boats, but also dynamic obstacles such as moving boats and floating docks. In addition, full-scale tests will be carried out on the milliAmpere ferry in Trondheim harbor.

Combining Reinforcement Learning and Robotic Vision for Human-Machine Cooperation

The master's thesis presents a hand-tracking driven human-machine interface, structured as a finite state machine, and used by an operator to cooperate with an RL agent to control a robotic arm.
