PhD Topic: Distributed communication-aware path planning for autonomous underwater fleets

Supervisor: Kristin Y. Pettersen

Co-supervisors: Hefeng Dong, Damiano Varagnolo, and Joao Sousa

Research

My research is focused on how to make autonomous underwater vehicles cooperate. Most of my work
relates to underwater acoustic communication, where I try to estimate the properties of the communication
channel to enable vehicles to make good decisions in order to maintain acceptable communication.

I am also the main researcher in charge of hardware at TURlab, a marine robotics lab at ITK. We have multiple
ROVs, ASVs, as well as a low cost snake robot. We also have various manipulator and underwater communication
systems.
