Apprentice within the IT-Department, Section for IT-Support, Campus IT Gløshaugen.
What do I work with?
- Support: We offer support for employees here at NTNU and students whenever student IT forwards them to us at Campus IT. We report issues and often act as intermediaries between users and other IT sections.
- Network: Activation of internet access points for employees and configuration of access points on the legacy network on request and necessity. We move out and test wireless networks within offices and other spaces, we then forward that information to the network group if necessary.
- Client: On clients I ensure that the client is updated by using software such as Dell Command Update and the NVIDIA Application for special computers. I work with problemsolving on clients and forward it to ensure repairs from Dell whenever there is a warranty, and removal of older laptops and/or deploying them for loans.
- Snipe IT: Responsible for updating and the usage of Snipe IT at Campus IT Gløshaugen. I make sure devices and equipment is located where it should be, that they are available, and that the system is actively used to register loans of equipment and so forth.
- Infoscreen: Responsible for development, updates, and operating a local information screen for Campus IT Gløshaugen. The information screen shows certain information such as opening times, phone numbers for IT & AV-support, meeting times, and so on.
- DigSik Operations: I work with operating the digital security iPads for labs. I move around and ensure their functionality and whenever they do not, I take them in and ensure that they are reinstalled so that they function as intended.
