Bakground:

Dr univ medicine 1990 in Vienna. Specialisttraining and exam FCOGSA (Fellow of College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist, South Africa) in 1999.

Joined the gynecological department at St Olav Hospital in 2001, since 2004 working as a consultant at the unit for general gynecology at St Olav Hospital in Trondheim.

Leader of vulva team Midt Norwaysince about 2017.

Main intrest: surgery for benign gynecological disease (laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, abdominal surgery). Vulvar diseases and female sexual problems. Global woman's health.

My PhD topic was is sexal function og both partner and woman after hysterectomies and pelvic floor surgery.

Current research topic is point of care testing to reduce antbiotic treatment for women with vaginal discharge in Nepal.

Research

Research focus is on gynecological surgery, vulvar disease, female sexual function and women's global health problems.

LAParokopisk hysterektomi i Norge –KOMPlikasjoner og livskvalitet LAPKOMP studien:

Examines risk factors and quality of life after complications of or laparoscopic hysterectomy. Focus is on women experiencing vaginal vault dehiscence after laparocopic hysterectomy and on a model to predict individual risk for postoperative complication.

Randomized controlled trial in Nepal: Implmenting point-of-care-tests to reduce antibiotics and identifying barriers to reduce the use of antibiotics for vaginal discharge- POCT-BRA study

Point-of-care tests to identify sexually transmitted infections for women visiting outpatients and assessing the effect on the prescription of antibiotics compared to standart approach and the additional effect of educational and psychosocial measures.

Clinical decision making for Caesarean deliveries in Sierra Leone- a sequential explanatory mixed method model

to provide comprehensive understanding of decision makeing and to identify opportunities for improving quality of care for mothers and their children in Sierra Leone., using an ongoing task-charing program to evaluate and contextualize this process.

Vulvodynia, urinary incontinence surgery, pelvic floor and vagina bacterial flora

examining pelvic floor muscles before and after treatment vulvodynia using ultrasound examination techniques and in addition also bacterial flora. Comparing this to women having undergone urinary incontinence surgery.
