Renzo earned his doctoral degree in psychology from Bourgogne Franche-Comté University in 2014. In 2015, he began working as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Neuchâtel. In 2018, he became an “Ambizione” grantee of the Swiss National Science Foundation at the same institution. He additionally served as an occasional lecturer at the University of Geneva. Based on his academic achievements, he was conferred the title of Privatdozent in 2020.
In 2022, Renzo joined the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) as an associate professor of psychology. At NTNU, he leads the “MAD-OHP” research group, which focuses on occupational health and psychological assessment. Since 2024, he has also held an honorary appointment as extraordinary professor at the WorkWell Research Unit at North-West University.
Renzo is the co-creator of the Occupational Depression Inventory and the Occupational Anxiety Inventory. He has led multiple international research projects and has (co-)authored over 100 scientific publications to date.
