About

CV

Pavlo Sukhachov is a PostDoc at the QuSpin Center of Excellence in the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He received his PhD from the Bogolyubov Institute for Theoretical Physics of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in 2016. Before joining NTNU in 2024, he held a few postdoctoral positions at Western University (Canada), Nordita (Sweden), Yale University (USA), and the University of California, Santa Cruz (USA).

His main research interests concern topological quantum materials exemplified by Dirac and Weyl semimetals. He is interested in transport properties, collective modes, surface states, superconductivity, and magnetism.

Competencies

  • Altermagnetism
  • Collective modes
  • Dirac and Weyl semimetals
  • Electron hydrodynamics
  • Electron transport
  • Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
  • Topological and quantum materials
  • Topological and unconventional superconductivity
  • Topological surface states

Research

My research focuses on exploring topological and quantum materials. My expertise in topological quantum materials spans a few research directions, including topological materials exemplified by Dirac and Weyl semimetals, superconductors, magnetic materials, flat-band systems, etc.

Currently, I am working on altermagnets, superconducting heterostructures, and topological systems.

Publications

Andreev reflection in scanning tunneling spectroscopy of unconventional superconductors

We evaluate the differential conductance measured in an STM setting at arbitrary electron transmission between STM tip and a 2D superconductor with arbitrary gap structure.

I have diverse interests and a substantial research record in theoretical condensed matter physics, including over 40 journal publications and a book titled “Electronic properties of Dirac and Weyl semimetals".
