Oscar Kayanja
About
Oscar Kayanja before joining this PhD, completed his Master of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering under the Materials for Environmental and Biomedical Applications Lab in Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology. His thesis was submitted in March 2023 under the main supervision of Professor Ahmed S. G. Khalil, and the work was on development and optimization of nanocomposite polyether sulfone based membranes for industrial wastewater treatment.
Research
Oscar Kayanja started as a PhD-candidate in the Functional Materials and Materials Chemistry group (FACET) at NTNU in October 2023. His work covers the development of new materials for the subsea power cable connectors, characterization of mechanical performance using tensile and compressive tests and dynamic mechanical analysis, in addition to electrical characterization by dielectric, electrical treeing and breakdown studies. The research is part of the Sea Connect project in collaboration with SINTEF Energy, and with Professor Mari-Ann Einarsrud as the main supervisor.
