Nicole Veelo
About
Nicole Veelo Ph.D. is associate professor in pedagogy at the department for Teacher Education at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Besides academic teaching at master level, she does research on professional digital competence development (PDC), digitalization in education, and school development. She is part of the NTNU DigSkole-team that works decentralized with school-based competence development to strengthen primary schools in their use of digital technology in pedagogical practice.
Nicole participated in the ERASMUS+ project No Teacher Educator Left Behind (NOTELEB) that contributes to the quality development in higher education in general and in teacher education and training with focus on teacher educators’ PDC in particular. On behalf of the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, she was part of the Norwegian research team conducting the study Kids’ Digital Lives in Coronavirus Times: Risk or Opportunity? (KiDiCoTi).
She has diverse experience in the use of ICT in teaching, including the teaching of net-based postgraduate courses and researched on ICT and learning and organised an international conference on technology and education. Further she is working towards the internationalisation of teacher education, being a member of several national and international research groups.
