About
Research Topic:
Microalagal dynamics in time and space in the Arctic using autonomous underwater vehicles.
Primary production in the Arctic is the basis of life are the primary food source for many ice-related organisms. I will use a combination of emerging technology with established techniques to study algae dynamics in the Arctic. Notably, I used different methods for mapping and monitoring algal dynamics in the Arctic. I used an Underwater Hyperspectral Imager (UHI) to map the underside of the sea ice and for sea-floor of macroalgae, pigment analysis for chemotaxonomy, CytoSense for identification of algal cells and Phyto-PAM for eco-physiology and photosynthesis.
