About

I hold a PhD in maritime cybersecurity and human factors, and my research interests are primarily within cyber risk management and human behaviour.

At NTNU in Ålesund, I teach information security to our engineering students and cybersecurity to maritime officers and managers.

Apart from my PhD, I also have an MSc in management of demanding marine operations and a BSc in nautical science. Furthermore, I have some experience of working onboard offshore vessels.

Outreach

What do you do if a hacker takes over your ship?

The risk of cyber attacks against a ship is real. The working crew on board must be allowed to practice handling these risks in a realistic way. Now they can.

Better cyber security at sea

Cyber security problems requires understanding how seafarers themselves perceive cyber risks — so they can do a better job protecting themselves and their vessels.
