About

Industrial PhD-candidate – Enzymatic hydrolysis of chicken rest raw material and evaluating chicken hydrolysate as a new feed ingredient for farmed salmon

I am an industrial PhD student working at the intersection of process engineering, food and feed science, and aquaculture. My research spans the full innovation chain from process development to commercial application of the end products.

My PhD-project focuses on improving the extraction of proteins from chicken rest raw material using enzymatic hydrolysis, with the aim of producing hydrolysate as a functional and sustainable feed ingredient for farmed salmon. The work involves lab scale enzymatic hydrolyses and evaluation of industrially relevant processing conditions on product yields and qualities. In addition, I test chicken hydrolysate as a feed ingredient for Atlantic salmon in lab scale at NTNU Sealab, and in commercial scale pens at sea through research concession licences from Fiskeridirektoratet.
