Kajwan Rasul
About
Kajwan is a part-time researcher at the Industrial Ecology Programme at NTNU, focusing on advanced input-output modelling for sustainability challenges. He is a key contributor to the EU Horizon project RAINFOREST, where he develops a coupled model based on EXIOBASE and FABIO to analyse the environmental impacts of food consumption.
Kajwan is the Managing Director of XIO Sustainability Analytics, a start-up providing global analytics and data services based on EXIOBASE and input-output modelling.
During his PhD, Kajwan worked extensively with EXIOBASE, contributing to its development by creating energy accounts for EXIOBASE 3.9, which underpin combustion emissions accounts widely used to calculate carbon footprints. He also developed metal production accounts, expanding EXIOBASE's applicability.
Kajwan developed and taught the first iteration of TEP4221 - Python for Sustainability Analytics, a mandatory course for Master’s students in the Industrial Ecology Programme at NTNU.
