About

I have worked in the science-policy interface of water management, environmental flows, environmental impact assessment and sustainable hydropower both as a research scientist and water manager, both at the national and European level.

Water manager at Norwegian Directorate for Nature Management since 2006, and in Norwegian Environment Agency (NEA) since 2013. From 2016 to 2018 I have been one of the co-chairs for the Ad hoc task group on Hydromorphology (ATG HYMO) as part of the Common Implementation Strategy (CIS) of the European Water Framework Directive (WFD) together with staff from the department of Environment, European Commission.

Research scientist at SINTEF from 1997-2006 with habitat modelling and environmental adaptation of hydropower. Experience from the geological survey of Norway, with mapping of eco-geochemistry in the Central Barents Region 1994-1997.

Started as a guest scientist with the OFFPHD-project, "Ecosystem based management - analysis and development of indicators for sustainable water and land" with funding over the OFFPHD-program in the Norwegian Research Council 2018-2022. The project is a collaboration between NTNU, NINA and NEA, and I will still have a part time position (Chief Engineer) at NEA.
