Jarvis Suslowicz
About
Jarvis Suslowicz is a PhD candidate within the Department of Architecture and Planning at NTNU. They hold a Research MSc in Urban Studies from the University of Amsterdam where they contributed to research on intra-cycling relations in the Netherlands; (cargo)bike logistics in planning; and the use of tactics in urban velomobility in Amsterdam and Oslo. Their background is based in human geography, bringing social science theory and methodology into practical spatial planning.
Their doctoral project forms part of the interdisciplinary MobilitetsLab Stor-Trondheim project, focusing on Tactical Urbanism: temporary and ad-hoc interventions for supporting active travel in the greater Trondheim region. They have a particular interest in finding means of supporting winter cycling through seasonal alterations to the network that supports maintenance of infrastructure. They are working with Trondheim kommune to test and evaluate various interventions in this area.
Jarvis has interest in GIS methodologies and supporting teaching in GIS methods for urban planning.
