Dhruv Gupta
About
I am an Associate Professor with the Databases and Artificial Intelligence (DART) Group in the Department of Computer Science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim, Norway.
My research lies in the broad areas of information retrieval, information extraction, and data mining. My doctoral research focused on building a scalable and efficient search infrastructure to analyze large amounts of semantically annotated text. As concrete products of my research I created Gyani and the DigitalHistorian search systems that were aimed to help linguists, journalists, and scholars in humanities to unlock the treasure trove of knowledge locked inside vast amounts of born-digital artifacts. I have also spent time in the industry having worked at Oracle, Amazon, and IBM Research in past.
