About

I hold a Master's Degree in philosophy (2006) and a PhD in philosophy and gender research (2013), both earned from the University of Bergen (UoB), Norway. After a period of teaching exphil, exfac and gender studies at UoB, I was a research fellow at the Nantes Institute for Advanced Studies, France, from October 2016 to June 2017, before doing postdoctoral work as a Marie Curie fellow at the Centre for Women's and Gender Research, UoB, July 2017-June 2021, on Project FEMSAG (grant no. 701724). During this latter period, I spent four semesters (Fall 2017-Spring 2019) as a visiting scholar at Program in Gender, Sexuality and Feminist Studies, Duke University, USA.

My research interests are focussed particularly on foundational issues in the life- and mind sciences (above all, the question of the role of the brain in the formation and unfolding of human experience and behaviour), the conflictual relation between existential phenomenology and naturalism, as well as biology vs. culture (or "nature" vs. "nurture") issues in feminist philosophy.
