About
Postdoctoral Researcher
The Sandvig Integrative Neuroscience Group, Department of Neuromedicine and Movement Science, NTNU
My research background revolves around advanced preclinical Alzheimer's disease (AD) modeling and neuropharmacological interventions.
Research
During my Ph.D. work, I focused on developing fundamental research concepts and methodologies in advanced preclinical AD modeling. This involved gaining expertise in various aspects of AD preclinical research, including pathological staining techniques, sampling and analysis of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers, drug research, viral vector delivery systems, and cognitive behavioral assays. Through these experiences, I have acquired a deep understanding of the intricacies of AD pathology and the evaluation of therapeutic interventions.
Currently, my research is primarily focused on AD neuropharmacology, building upon recent breakthrough findings. These findings have demonstrated the efficacy of combinatorial treatment with two repurposed drugs in significantly attenuating AD pathology and improving memory function in preclinical models of AD. This has led to the first ever drug repurposing project at NTNU. By expanding on these discoveries, I aim to further investigate the underlying mechanisms of this combinatorial treatment approach and explore its potential translational applications in human AD patients.
