Balamurugan Ganesan

About

I'm currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Energy and Process Technology group in the Norwegian University of Science and technology. I possess a background in Aerospace Engineering with specialization in Experimental Aerodynamics. I have worked in flow instabilities in boundary laye subjected to elevated levels of freestream turbulence characterizing their properties using PIV and linear stability analysis. My interests are in understanding fundamental and practical fluids flows through laboratory experiments using state of the art optical diagnostics.

Research

I am currently working on the tangential inlet swirling jets and on the free surface effects on bluff body flows. I have worked on characterizing the secondary instabilities in bypass boundary layer transition and on the turbulent non-turbulent interface characteristics in a spatially developing turbulent mixing layer.
