NTNU is a Regional Networking Academy Support Center (ASC), providing support to schools and other educational institutions that aims to utilize courses offered by the Cisco Networking Academy (NetAcad) in its education.
NetAcad is an e-learning platform that provides courses within networking, cybersecurity, and information technology. Quizzes, animations, videos, hands-on labs etc., are used to provide a variety of learning methods, supporting the written curricullum.
Within NetAcad there are two main types of courses held by educational institutions:
- self-paced online courses
- on-premises courses
For more information about specific courses, visit www.netacad.com/courses/all-courses. Note that some of the courses require accreditation or instructor training, to facilitate high-quality learning outcomes for the students.
As an ASC, NTNU assists Norwegian Cisco Academies in a number of ways, including, but not limited to, the following services:
- Help getting started as a new academy
- Answer to instructor related questions about teaching and curriculum
- A navigator to NetAcad resources and documents
- An open line of two-way communication to inform you about changes in the NetAcad ecosystem and listen to you and support you in your NetAcad endeavors.
In addition to being a ASC, NTNU also uses courses from the Networking Academy in its own education.
