Applied Organic Chemistry
Applied Organic Chemistry

The research of Bård Helge Hoff is in the field of applied organic chemistry, working both with medicinal chemistry and energy/material related research. Currently, the main focus is on developing organic molecules for targeted cancer therapy by inhibition of kinases and dye-sensitized solar cells.
We also take on any organic chemistry challenge. So far these projects have involved asymmetric synthesis by non enzymatic and enzymatic methods, the chemistry of fluorinated molecules, heterocyclic chemistry, metal organic chemistry, carbohydrate chemistry and microwave chemistry.
Projects
- Synthesis of kinase inhibitors for cancer therapy
- Synthesis and characterisation of dyes for dye-sensitised solar cells
- Development of new antibiotics
