One Hour with Europe
«One Hour with Europe», is an initiative managed by the NTNU Brussels office in collaboration with the colleagues of the Rectorate Staff
The initiative aims to keep interested colleagues up to date on what is happening in Brussels, and about the latest novelties on Funding Programmes on a monthly basis by means of interactive meetings. The events highlights the future opportunities that the various Brussels initiatives hold for Norwegian researchers.
The initiative hosts relevant key players from the European Commission, relevant R&I stakeholders and colleagues from NTNU.

The European Innovation Council: Upcoming opportunities and future perspectives

Launched back in March 2021, the European Innovation Council (EIC) has represented one of the novelties of the Horizon Europe Programme, aimed to identify, develop, and scale up breakthrough technologies and game changing innovations.
Its funding instruments are conceived to cover the whole innovation lifecycle, from early stage research, to proof of concept, technology transfer, and the financing and scale up of start-ups and SMEs.
Specific novelties are announced for 2025 where the EIC is expected to invest a higher budget, to reinforcement the pathfinder, transition and accelerator instruments and, last but not least, to launch a new STEP focused funding instrument.
Considered by many stakeholders as a successful and impactful tool, the EIC appears today a credible candidate to be among the funding instruments that will compose the tools portfolio of the next FP10.
In this One Hour With Europe appointment, we will have the pleasure to host Keith Sequeira, European Commission Head of the EIC Unit in Directorate A of DG RTD. The participants will have the possibility to gain a complete overview of 2025 opportunities, and also to debate and challenge our guest about the future perspectives and positioning of the EIC in the future programming period.
