One Hour with Europe Webinar – “Shaping Europe’s Future: Insights and Strategy for Horizon Europe”
Discovering the ‘Align, Act, Accelerate’ Report of the Expert Group on the Interim Evaluation of Horizon Europe
Europe is at a pivotal moment in its research and innovation journey, with the interim evaluation of Horizon Europe and the upcoming Framework Programme 10 (FP10) offering a chance to reflect on past successes and plan strategically for the future. Following the 2024 European elections, the autumn presents a crucial time to shape the EU's next steps in research and innovation.
On 16 October 2024, the European Commission released the "Align, Act, Accelerate" report, a key document that will influence the formation of FP10. Containing 12 recommendations, the report challenges current approaches and proposes significant changes. Its release has already sparked important discussions, and stakeholders are invited to further engage with its contents (https://op.europa.eu/en/publication-detail/-/publication/2f9fc221-86bb-11ef-a67d-01aa75ed71a1/language-en).
In this edition of the "One Hour with Europe" webinar, Professor Manuel Heitor, chair of the expert group behind the report, will present the findings and engage directly with participants. This webinar offers a unique opportunity not only to hear a detailed presentation of the report but also to challenge its recommendations directly with Professor Heitor, providing deeper insights into how lessons from Horizon Europe can shape FP10 and boost Europe's global competitiveness.
The discussion might also highlight the critical role of academia and research institutions in driving innovation, sustainability, and societal impact in FP10. We expect the webinar to offer valuable insights into the EU’s evolving research landscape and its strategies for building a more inclusive, competitive, and resilient future.
