BREATHE CAG - Bridging REsearch and clinical practice for AsTHma and COPD

Introduction
BREATHE CAG is a Clinical Academic Group (CAG) that brings together researchers and healthcare professionals from Central Norway to address key challenges in asthma and COPD. Our collaborative research aims to deepen understanding of these conditions, improve diagnostic methods, and optimize treatment strategies. By focusing on clinical outcomes and cost-effective interventions, we seek to enhance patient care while reducing the strain on healthcare systems.
We are anchored at the The Department of Respiratory Medicine at St. Olav's Hospital, and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at NTNU. Collaborating healthcare institutions in Helse Midt-Norge include Ålesund Hospital, Helse Møre og Romsdal, and Levanger Hospital, Helse Nord-Trøndelag.

We are part of the international consortia CADSET, and SpiroMeta. We collaborate with LHL, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with heart and lung diseases, stroke, and related conditions, offering patient advocacy, education, and treatment support throughout Norway.
BREATHE CAG is led by Sigrid Anna Aalberg Vikjord (group leader) and Arnulf Langhammer (deputy group leader). CAG coordinator is Berit Wærdahl Haanshuus.
