2023
Alf Bjørseth
NTNU's Award of Honour 2023 has been awarded to researcher and entrepreneur Alf Bjørseth, for his significant contribution to Norwegian industry and the development of renewable energy in several Norwegian companies.
Rector Anne Borg presented the award at NTNU’s Doctoral Awards Ceremony on 10 March 2023.

Erik Must
Erik Must, investor, has received the NTNU’s Award of Honour 2019 for his driving force and support in the development of bioinformatics at NTNU.
Rector Anne Borg presented the award at NTNU’s Doctoral Awards Ceremony on 17 November 2022.

Steinar Sælid
Steinar Sælid, researcher and gründer, has received the NTNU’s Award of Honour 2019 for his significant contribution to Norwegian industry and development of core technology for main products in several Norwegian companies.
Former constituted Rector Anne Borg presented the award at NTNU’s Doctoral Awards Ceremony on 14 November 2019.
2018
Rune Fløisbonn
Rune Fløisbonn, a driving force in the development of computer security as a field of expertise in Norway, has received NTNU’s Award of Honour for 2018.
Former rector Gunnar Bovim presented the award at NTNU’s Doctoral Awards Ceremony in the aula at the Main Building on 16 March 2018.
Rune Fløisbonn is the first recipient of the award.

About the Award of Honour
NTNU’s Award of Honour is presented to people who through their life and work have contributed to NTNU’s development or made an exceptional social contribution nationally and internationally – individuals who:
- deserve recognition because, through their personal dedication, they have been/are valuable partners for the university
- are a role model for students and staff, showing how individuals can make a difference to society in a way that reflects NTNU’s vision of «Knowledge for a Better World».
The award may be presented to NTNU alumni.(*)
(*) Former employees are not candidates for NTNU's Award of Honour. Exceptions can only be made for persons who have been employed in adjunct positions, researcher education, or for a shorter period in their career. Persons who have a looser connection to NTNU (e.g. supervisor, examiner) can be appointed.
