ProbAI 2022

Nordic Probabilistic AI School 2022
After two years without meeting in person, the third installment of the Nordic Probabilistic AI School – also known as ProbAI school – was held on June 13-17 of 2022. This year’s participants were finally able to gather at the Kumpula campus of the University of Helsinki in Finland. As well as NAIL and NTNU, ProbAI 2022 was organized with the support of the Finnish Center for Artificial Intelligence (FCAI).
This year the summer school recieved over 750 applications from around the world. We are very proud of ProbAI's continued popularity and success. Some of the 150 participants issued their praise in this recap from FCAI, saying that the week was highly rewarding.
The summer school was held in the Exactum building on the Helsinki campus, where 14 international speakers and lecturers from both industry and academia presented on different topics. The program included subjects like probabilistic modelling and programming, deep generative models, and Bayesian neural networks, as well as two rounds of poster sessions.
In addition to the academic program, the students got to attend a banquet dinner, and a visit to the Helsinki location of Unity Technologies, the video game software development company founded in Denmark.
Once again, we thank all the attendees, organisers, volunteers, and lecturers for ensuring that ProbAI 2022 became another successful edition of the summer school. Furthermore, we would like to thank all the willing participants who share their materials and recordings from the event openly.
ProbAI 2023 will be held in Trondheim and you can read more about ProbAI and next year’s event here.
