ProbAI 2021

Successful Nordic Probabilistic AI School 2021
The second Nordic Probabilistic AI School – also known as ProbAI school – was held virtually on June 14-18 of 2021. The school brought together more than 200 students and a great team of lecturers and speakers from all over the world.
ProbAI was organised for the first time in 2019 at NTNU in Trondheim. Due to the pandemic, the second edition was postponed to 2021, with hopes that this year would allow us to gather in Trondheim again. Unfortunately, this didn't come to fruition and the school turned digital instead. We received more than 400 applications to attend ProbAI 2021, and a few more than 200 were selected to attend.
Despite the downside of not being able to meet in person, the team of organisers, teaching assistants and lecturers made deliberate efforts to enable the participants to interact and collaborate digitally. Combined with the interesting and extensive program of lectures and hands-on workshops, the result was a successful summer school.
Thanks to all the participants, organisers and lecturers for making ProbAI 2021 a great event. The ProbAI 2021 was largely a volunteer effort, and much appreciation goes to the willingness of the lecturers to share their materials and lecture recordings with the public.
