Exercise and physical activity is beneficial for the heart, muscles and skeleton. In addition it can prevent a range of today's lifestyle diseases, and in many cases can also have a rehabilitative effect.
The Exercise, Circulation & Respiration unit consists of research environments studying the physiological benefits of exercise:
- Cardiovascular surgery
- Exercise, Cardiometabolic health And Reproduction (EXCAR)
- Exercise Physiology and Sport Sciences
- Group of Molecular and Cellular Cardiology (GMCC)
- K.G. Jebsen – Center for Exercise in Medicine (CERG)
As part of the integrated Trondheim University Hospital, we cooperate with the National Centre of Expertise: Exercise as Medicine (in Norwegian) at St. Olavs hospital.
