Element – Department of Education and Lifelong Learning
ELEMENT - Exploring Living and Learning through Media and New Technology Practice
ELEMENT explores if and how media practices are related to life skills. How do young people learn, make meaning and cope with life in the media dominated culture?
The research group MEDLiE (Media Literacy and Education Research Group), leads the research project ELEMENT, which researches how media practices unfold in young people’s lives. The research participants’ media practices are followed in different arenas in everyday life, in school and leisure activities. The project collects qualitative data on 1) concrete media use, 2) the social practices the media use is part of, and 3) the participants’ reflections on their own media practices.
