Sofia Papavlasopoulou
About
Sofia Papavlasopoulou is Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), since 2021. Her research interests focus on the design, evaluation, and implementation of educational and emerging technologies in meaningfull learning experiences to support students’ learning while enhancing their interest and knowledge in Computing, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), Maker Education and Coding from kindergarten to undergraduate. She has led and worked on several research projects funded by EC (Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe) and National (The Research Council of Norway).
She is currently teaching master level courses, leading interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary student groups that develop software solutions in collaboration with product owners from the industry in the private and public sector.
She has co-authored more than 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences including Computers in Human Behaviour, IEEE Pervasive Computing, International Journal of Human-Computer Studies, Interaction Design and Children Conference, to mention few. She is Associate editor at the International Journal of Child-Computer-Interaction (IJCCI) and has served as Technical program chair, Program chair, Associate chair in various conferences.
