About

I work on methods development for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), with a particular focus on ultra-high field (7 Tesla) MRI of the spinal cord. Spinal cord MRI is affected by various perturbations to the magnetic fields that perform the spatial encoding of signal in MRI, sometimes drastically reducing the image quality. I look at characterizing the spatial and temporal characteristics of the magnetic field perturbations, which mostly are of physiological origin (e.g. breathing, static susceptibility), and develop methods to correct for them. This includes gradient system characterization, dynamic shimming and retrospective/prospective methods for addressing dynamic B0 field fluctuations. The goal is to achieve robust, high-resolution, high-quality, structural and functional images of the spinal cord.
