Amina Abdulrahman Ally
About
Amina is a PhD Candidate specializing in Child Studies at the Department of Education and Lifelong Learning as part of the Critical Child and Youth Studies (CCYS) research group. She holds a Bachelor's in Psychology from Concordia University (2018), and a Master's in Communication and Culture from York University (2020).
Amina's research focuses on children's cultural identity, belonging and citizenship, in relation to popular culture and digital media. Her research interests include feminist methodologies, postcolonial studies, posthumanism, embodied inquiry and arts-based/creative approaches to research. She has previously worked with Dr. Natalie Coulter on the project Embodying the Tween: Living Girlhood in Global and Digital Spaces at the Institute for Research on Digital Literacies.
